Meet The Chef

makeen

I’m Makeen Nijamkhan, originally from Sri Lanka, with roots that reach back to Kerala, where my
grandfather—A.K.—began our family's culinary journey. He migrated to Sri Lanka with a dream of opening a restaurant, and since I was born, I was told I would be the next A.K. My mother, an incredible cook, became my first teacher. I was her apprentice, learning the flavours of our heritage
through love and tradition. After moving to this country, I found myself longing for home, for my
family, and for the meals that shaped my childhood. That longing led me back to the kitchen.


Now, I cook professionally, doing what I love most—bringing people together through food. Every dish I serve is rooted in the meals I’ve shared with my family. The beauty of this kitchen is that
everyone here cooks with the genuine desire to satisfy your taste buds and warm your soul. For me personally, to be able to touch someone’s heart through a meal is both a satisfaction and an honour.
